Condo Baby Boom Trend
A great trend is young couples with small children under five years old are staying downtown. Hence mixed-use projects that include daycares, shared “play date” facilities and mom/dad-friendly social programming are becoming more widely available.
The Young are Heading Downtown
In addition younger workers in particular want to be in the urban core. They’re foregoing cars and commutes in favour of downtown living, therefore driving up demand for condos and rental unites in the core.
Amenities: All or Nothing
Shared executive boardroom, chef’s kitchen, wash bay for pets – Wow! Amenities beyond the norm are available for those who most of all desire luxury living. While on the flip side, “no-fills” inner city buildings are appealing to condo buyers looking for affordable options.
To Park or Not to Park
Consumers are also beginning to look at cars as being more disposable. Do we really need a big tower downtown with tons of parking? Rather, watch for Calgary’s first parking-free condo tower in the East Village.
